After all the time you've spent planning and dreaming about going on safari, this is where it finally starts. Your guide will meet you and explain everything you need to know and answer any questions you might have. And then we'll go out on safari together.

You're in for a real treat when you visit Lake Nakuru National Park. It's one of the best places anywhere for seeing both black and white rhinos, but there are other highlights as well, including the possibility of seeing lions (some even climb trees here), leopards, flamingos and endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Rich birdlife, pretty acacia forests, and a towering escarpment overlooking the lake all add to the natural drama.

Getting to know Nairobi is a wonderful addition to your safari, with the city's museums, markets, shops, wildlife-rescue centers, restaurants and nightlife. Nairobi even has its own (excellent) national park.

Day 3 to 5 Lake Naivasha

You'll visit Lake Naivasha and have the pleasure of exploring this pretty, high-altitude Rift Valley lake. There are lots of attractions, especially along the southern lakeshore. You might even see hippos, giraffes or zebras. But Lake Naivasha's greatest appeal is the lake's natural beauty and the variety of experiences you can have while you're here.

Day 4, Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is an extraordinary place that has spectacular scenery and highlights you don't find elsewhere: plenty of rhinos, tree-climbing lions and endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Watch for leopards too.

We think you'll love getting to know Naboisho Conservancy, one of the best of the conservancies of those that surround the Masai Mara National Reserve. Apart from the varied landscapes so typical of the Masai Mara's ecosystems, the highlights here are the exclusive camps, small crowds and excellent wildlife viewing. The density of big cats here is one of the highest in Kenya, so expect lots of lions and cheetahs in particular. Tourist and vehicle densities are extremely low, which means you should have a lovely and intimate safari experience.
